Sorala's Community Library
Welcome!
We are excited to welcome you to Sorala's Community Library! We value your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean and exceptional environment for all visitors, and we appreciate your efforts to preserve the library and the books for you and our community to enjoy for years to come iyH! Thank you for being part of Sorala's Community Library!
Late Fee
Charges
To be able to service the community properly, all books must be returned within 2 weeks. You will get email reminders as to when the books are due. Any book that is returned late will incur a 50 cents fee per book, per day. If the library is closed the day your books are due, you must return by the next library day. There will be a drop off box to return borrowed books at the door of the library. Please make sure to close the cover properly so not to ruin the books. The drop off is only for days that the library is closed. The books in the drop off box will not be checked in on days that the library is open and may incur a late fee.
Library Decorum
Our library decorum guidelines include: Absolutely no food or drinks, no loud conversations or phone calls. Books must be properly handled at all times, and must be returned to their proper place before leaving. Children under the age of 7 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Sit In
Times
At Sorala's Community Library, we want to encourage children to love reading, so we have designated sit-in times for them to enjoy our books on premises. Please refer to our HOURS tab for these specific times. During these hours, children are welcome to take out ONE BOOK AT A TIME and sit in the designated area to read and enjoy. We kindly ask that all books are put back in their correct places before leaving, so other children can enjoy them too.
Book Destroyers
In order to maintain the quality of our collection, we kindly request that you keep all items that can damage books, such as crayons, markers, pens, food, drinks, scissors, and glue, away. Babies and small children rip books. Please keep books safe when not using them. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Book Return Condition
We kindly request all borrowers to return the books in the same condition they were borrowed. If you return a book that is deemed ruined by our librarian, you will be responsible for replacing it. You have two options for replacement: pay the price of the book (and any binding fees, if applicable) or replace it yourself by purchasing a new copy and having it professionally bound by our binder. If a book is returned ruined it will be assumed that the damage happened while in your possession, unless we were shown or notified about the damage within 24 hours of borrowing. Should we find a damage at any point, the responsibility will remain with the last borrower.
